07/09 Let’s Hear You Scream

AHHHHHHHHHH!! HOLY HOLY CRAP!!!!!

I’M NOT EVEN KIDDING YOU. THESE PAST FEW DAYS HAVE ROCKED SO MUCH!

I went shopping (I’m a loser who got her first Chanel makeup) and got all my other stuff together with my best friend and today was the SIMPLE PLAN CONCERT with Faber Drive, Cute is What We Aim For and Metro Station.

So we get there thinking that we may not have a chance to be first row – people working there start taking pictures of us and saying that they’ll put it on the giant screen for basically the entire city to see. One guy looked so freakishly like Zac Efron that I had the urge to actually tell him he reminded me of Zacquisha when I got up to ask about bathrooms (which were non existent apparently).

After like 3 hours we were almost at the front for the doors to open, and once they finally did, we just grabbed each others hands and RAN INTO THE LOBBY AS FAST AS WE HAVE LITERALLY EVER RAN BEFORE.

So we quickly made it down the steps to the floor of the stage just following some random people until we got to the people to give the wrist bands. Surely there was along line in front since some kids had crazy connections – but just as we get there a girl goes “I can take some people over here” and we basically cut the entire line.

Then I see like two more railing spots open as I’m scanning the floor and anxiously awaiting to get my band. Finally I yell to my friend and just take off to the railing knowing that we’re GOING TO BE AN ARM’S REACH AWAY FROM ALL OF THE BANDS WHEN I GET THERE. And BEHOLD I make it there in time and my friend follows after.

So latching on to the rails with security right in our faces we get ready and the music just stars blearing while we hang on and Faber Drive comes out. The band I almost cry to when I listen to their songs (shut up, we all have obsessions even if it might sound weird to actually admit them). So then after Faber is done GET THIS GET THIS —-*takes breath*—so they go and start throwing guitar picks and stuff into the crowd until the drummer gets up and throws his stick which LANDS ON THE FLOOR IN FORNT OF ME. So the security guard picks it up AND POINTS TO ME AND HANDS ME FABER DRIVES DRUM STICK!! HOLY SHIT!

Afterwards Cute Is What We Aim For came on and I was caught yawning to them because that’s how bad they were. Finally Metro Station came on and Trace Cyrus was seriously the cutest thing ever! I used to think metro was for weirdos and Trace was fugly – but he made eye contact with is and danced along while playing and just kinda laughed so it was so much fun! It happened MANY of times too, he’d just come and we’d point or wave and he’d point back or something – hahha.

Lastly and MOST IMPORTANTLY Simple Plan made their entrance and my eardrums were about to explode as they tore into non stop dance songs as we all just screamed along and jumped without stopping. With all the lights, water throwing by the members (getting us wet!) and action it felt like we were on stage. In a few parts we made eye contact with David and Seb who would smile and nod their head and kind of give a smirk when you waved to them. How to I know? At one point there was a white spotlight just shining at me and my friend and all of the sudden David just looks and smiles right at us (I’m really not crazy, it WAS actually happening)! Holy hell!

Afterwards we thought the band left and suddenly you hear Pierre in the darkness and he yells “HEY FLOOR PEOPLE. TURN AROUND!” and suddenly everyone just bolts to center stage where he’s standing on a small platform while people grope him from all directions. We didn’t get quite close enough to touch him but seriously, it was damn awesome.

So sitting with my drum stick (which I’ll post a pic of after) I’m a bit disappointed that we didn’t get a change to meet Faber when we went around to where the tour buses were. (bleh there were Cute is what we aim for people talking and hanging out but we really didn’t care.)

Still, this all was, in one word, EPIC! Best time you could ever have without getting drunk and pretending to have fun. It was all just…wow!
