I can’t help but question if people are capable of stopping and thinking for themselves when they see everyone around them following, stuttering and mimicking the same exact thing like a bunch of mindless puppets.
I find it unfortunate that so many people succumb to praising somebody who goes out of their way to degrade another person. Someone who bluntly seeks to harass and mock in return for praise and glory. People who chose to do that desperately look for approval from others because they starve at the lack of their own. The more hate-induced and jealousy overflowing insults they can come up with, the more glory they feel that they receive from equally miserable and good for nothing supporters.
What I mean to say is, whenever you get the slight hint that someone is going too far and see that everyone around you seems to eat it up like a chocolate dessert, I would strongly suggest that you stop and think. It doesn’t matter how many people chose to chant and encourage that person to keep on going, it doesn’t even matter if the person themselves struggles to come up with whatever bullshit excuses to convince you otherwise. Think of the motives and why it’s actually being done and then, for the love of god, only then make up your own mind.
I’m saying this because I am drained of seeing people who bluntly believe and follow along with whatever someone does and says no matter how harsh and out of line it is because they are either too afraid or too caught up and dazed to figure out that person’s intentions.
Just know that if you chose to be spineless harasser, you become just like the rest of them out there, you are nothing special.

like when people agree and do something not because they want to – but because everyone else is and because confronting the situation seems too challenging.

I get pressured to not be because they aren’t a friend or they are a “loser”

I would really love to do a Management degree, but it is really hard to get into any good university to study that subject so it is very hard to find any unis. I’ve found a Business Management course which only requires grades BBB (300 points) but other than that all the rest of unis are like AAB (340 points) and I cannot find any ABB which would be very ideal.
and yeah I know how math based some of the modules can be in a management degree. It will probably be alot worse in Economics but if I do a BA Econ and not a BSc Econ then there will much less maths.
What kind of career do you want in the future? Like a top notch management job? I want to head into Investment Banking but there is a lot of competition for jobs and they tend ot only go for universities that are ABB atleast for a Middle Office job (mainly risk analysis) but Back office jobs there are easier to get (mainly operations)
^^ I’m actually doing alright in Econ and I’m a bad math student – you just have to analyze a bunch of graphs and know supply and demand characteristics and how each one affects the other. It’s not too bad, but it’s fast paced and can get confusing. Either than that, I wouldn’t say that econ is overwhelming at all.
Which career do I want? Since I can’t start off at the top I’m thinking of going abroad to study and then do an internship to get a management job at an advertising firm. Then I’d like to move on to consulting and since it involves knowing the system inside and out, I’ll have get quite a bit of experience first. There are some kids I know who already run a pretty successful ad business so I’m sure it’s all doable, I just don’t want something mediocre, you know?
Just wondering Kate what did you want to be when you were younger, i actually wanted to be a shopkeeper but then i found ou you can’t eat your own stuff or take money out of the till hahahaha. Now i wanna be a lawyer, FAT CHANCE!
I agree with your blog, there are ALOT of people in my school who is like that. It is horrible sometimes but people deal with it and at the end of the day those type of people look like an idiot.

I completely agree with you, people do need to start thinking for themselves. I think its more of a popularity thing in school, ‘hunt or be hunted’ I think is one of the quotes I have heard loll
Anisa: When I was little I wanted to be a dancer and a vet (yup at the same time). That all took a shift when I went on a field trip to the animal hospital in grade 3 and they had this black cat lying there sedated to get his tooth pulled out…and it just looked like a scary dead cat. That’s when I decided to change careers!
Yeah Emiley there are a lot of people like that in high school, I’ve been through enough catfights to know how incredulous they are. Sure there are some situations where you just can’t get along with someone, I get that. But when people stand by on a bigger scale and watch someone degrade someone else or start joining in because it feels like everyone else is..well that’s never their place.
Thanks for replying! I could never work with animals, i love them and all that but i just can’t. I remember when i also wanted to be a doctor or a nurse but i just cannot deal with blood, and last year this girl got stabbed and there was shitloads of blood and it scared me. Sorry for the spam lol.

My teacher gave us a lecture on it about a week ago,
how people only care about themseleves.
He said, all they think is “ME ME ME!”
I made me laugh but it was true.
One of the greatest lessons I’ve learnt is that you should care about others.
Sometimes people forget but if its like if the person does it everyday its annoying and selfish.

omg i am so with you on that one there is a girl at my school who is always starting stuff or calling other people ugly and making people feel bad and everyone just goes along with it like theres nothing wrong with it even though ive heard a few of them say that its wrong or they cant stand that girl but still they go along with it and its utterly disgusting….
